Andrew Yang Raises AI Issue That Marshall Barnes Has Been Warning About, During 2nd Dem Debate

Marshall Barnes has been calling for people to demand answers from politicians running for office concerning threats to jobs stemming from developments with artificial technology and robotics. Yang is the only Presidential candidate talking about it.

DETROIT - Michimich -- At the Democratic debate in Detroit, MI there was a stand-out moment, though many may not have realized it. It was candidate Andrew Yang mentioning that AI and robotics would replace and displace large segments of the American workforce.

"If you go to a factory here in Michigan, you will not find wall-to-wall immigrants; you will find wall-to-wall robots and machines. Immigrants are being scapegoated for issues they have nothing to do with in our economy."

It's an issue Marshall Barnes, internationally noted, up and coming man to be reckoned with in the advanced concept science and technology field, has been addressing extensively on Twitter - telling people to confront anyone running for office about what they would do about it. He's glad to see Yang talking about it, but says it's not enough.

"I want people looking at the hard facts and realize it's even worse, but at least Yang is offering an introduction to the problem. But as much as Yang likes to talk math, I don't believe he's done the math on what the effect will be, even with his $12,000 a year free income for every adult American proposal. Incomes will fall across the board, below levels that will sustain the type of consumer economy that all this automation is supposed to serve. AI will be the end of the customer base that's supporting the economy now. It's economic suicide with a purpose. Oh, but why on Earth would there be such an outpouring for developing these technologies only to put themselves, and everyone else, out of work? I want to see if Yang, or anyone else for that matter, figures the terrible truth out."

Marshall points toward scenarios based on what he knows - that AI can be programmed for rapid learning potential and accelerated knowledge acquisition, beyond anything anyone is talking about.

"The candidates not talking about this are either totally clueless and have no business running for office, or they're in on it and just trying to keep up the charade as long as possible - until they can't. In any event, I have an escape plan better than Silicon Valley billionaire preppers (see https://www.vox.com/2017/1/23/14354840/silicon-valley-billionaires-prepping-survive-underground-bunkers-new-yorker  ) but if everyone would stand-up, stopping this nonsense, there'd be no reason to escape."
