Considered one of the most commercially successful Broadway songwriters of his time, Herman (1931-2019) was the composer and lyricist for a number of hit musicals, starting in the 1960s, that were characterized by an upbeat and optimistic outlook and what Herman called "the simple, hummable showtune."
Gravitte is a Tony Award winner for her work in "Jerome Robbins' Broadway," while Graae is well-known for infusing comedy into his performances on stage and television and has performed in Detroit a number of times. Blackhurst is acclaimed for her award-winning tribute to Ethel Merman and Raines has a Tony Award nomination for his role in "Follies" by Stephen Sondheim.
For tickets, contact the Philharmonic at www.michiganphil.org or call (734) 451-2112. St. John's Chapel is located at 44045 Five Mile in Plymouth Township.
All of the Philharmonic's concerts are subject to time and date changes as well as health restrictions mandated by the State of Michigan.
