Crystals, Fossils and Family Fun Headline 80th Greater Detroit Gem, Mineral & Fossil Show

WARREN, Mich. - Michimich -- WARREN, Mich. - The Michigan Mineralogical Society and Cranbrook Institute of Science will mark the 80th Annual Greater Detroit Gem, Mineral & Fossil Show with a first: FREE admission for children 14 and under accompanied by an adult.

The three-day show featuring incredible fossils, sparkling gemstones, and rare treasures from around the world runs Oct. 9-11, 2026, at the Macomb Community College Sports & Expo Center in Warren. This year's theme is the Quest for Quartz.

Drawing collectors, families, educators, hobbyists, and curious explorers from across the Midwest, the event offers an opportunity to experience natural history through educational exhibits, expert presentations, hands-on activities, and more than 70 dealers showcasing gems, minerals, fossils, crystals, jewelry, and lapidary art - the craft of cutting and polishing stones.

Friday, Oct. 9: 9 a.m.-6 p.m.
Saturday, Oct. 10: 10 a.m.-7 p.m.
Sunday, Oct. 11: 11 a.m.-5 p.m.
