SOUTHFIELD, Mich. - Michimich -- Degree Forward, a leading nonprofit committed to supporting working professionals in completing their college degrees, proudly announces its third annual Graduation Ceremony, taking place on Thursday, June 26, 2025, at 6:00 p.m. in the Grand Ballroom of St. John Armenian Church, located at 22001 Northwestern Hwy, Southfield, MI 48075.
This year, 85 students will cross the stage—marking tremendous growth from 7 graduates in 2023, to 33 in 2024, to the program's largest graduating class yet. These students have successfully earned Associate (AA), Bachelor's (BA), or in some cases both degrees through Degree Forward's university partner, Southern New Hampshire University (SNHU).
"This celebration isn't just about diplomas—it's about honoring the courage and commitment it takes to keep going when life doesn't slow down," said Raylynn Henry, Executive Director of Degree Forward. "Our graduates have managed jobs, families, and countless responsibilities—and still showed up for their dreams. Watching them cross the stage is the kind of moment that reminds me exactly why we do this work."

A Model Designed for Working Adults
Launched in 2021, Degree Forward was built for adults with demanding lives—many of whom had paused or never started college. The program combines a project-based, self-paced online degree with personalized coaching, local community support, and career development services.
Degree Forward offers an accelerated, affordable, and achievable path to a college degree, with no traditional lectures or exams. Instead, students complete real-world projects through a "submit, revise, repeat" format until they demonstrate mastery. Tuition is capped at $10,000 per year, with no hidden costs.
"Degree Forward has been life-changing. It allowed me to balance my personal and professional life while pursuing my dreams. I'm deeply grateful for this program's support and the resources that empowered me to achieve this milestone and obtain a new role!"
— Beth Deane, BA Student, Communications
This year's ceremony will feature keynote speaker Andre Ebron, a renowned CEO, author, and transformational leader known for his commitment to equity and community impact. His message of perseverance and empowerment will anchor the evening's celebration.
