ADBC and safety-configured Platinous EPU-3 on display at Booth 5622, Huntington Place, Detroit, October 13-15

HUDSONVILLE, Mich. - Michimich -- ESPEC North America will exhibit at The Battery Show North America 2026, October 13-15 at Huntington Place in Detroit. At Booth 5622, the company will show two battery test chambers: the ADBC Advanced Battery Test Chamber, and a Platinous EPU-3 configured with enhanced safety features for demanding battery testing applications.

The show draws engineers working on lithium-ion cells, battery packs, stationary energy storage, and power supply validation, where test data has to hold up to regulatory and audit scrutiny.

The ADBC is a purpose-built, three-zone temperature chamber for charge and discharge testing of lithium-ion and other advanced battery types. It operates from -40°C to +100°C with temperature uniformity of ±1.5°C. It reaches +100°C from +20°C, or -30°C from +20°C, within 60 minutes.

Three separately controlled chambers with independent cooling sit in a single unit, and horizontal laminar airflow keeps temperature uniform. The integrated design accommodates the customer's preferred charge and discharge power supply, saving lab space compared with separate systems.

Standard ADBC safety features include screw-in door locks and an emergency stop switch. Options include gas, heat, and smoke detection, pressure relief vents, CO₂ fire extinguishing, and forced-air ventilation.

The Platinous EPU-3 builds on ESPEC's most popular general-use reach-in series, manufactured in the USA since 1989. The unit at the show includes a reinforced door latch and solenoid-activated door lock, a pressure-relief blow-out port, a spark-resistant interior with sheathed heaters, and cable port restraints.

An integrated safety system adds H₂ and CO gas monitoring, fire detection with automatic chamber shutdown, CO₂ fire suppression, and chamber ventilation. Together, these provide multiple layers of protection against the potential hazards of battery testing.
