Frankenmuth Dog Bowl Breaks Giving Record with Over $55,000 Donated to K9 Units, Dog Rescues, and Community Initiatives
FRANKENMUTH, Mich. - Michimich -- Frankenmuth Dog Bowl, the world's largest Olympic-style festival for dogs, is proud to announce its largest charitable donation to date — an incredible $55,706.25 distributed to Police K9 Units, dog rescue organizations, and local causes that support public safety and animal welfare.
Fueled by overwhelming community support and the continued generosity of sponsor partners, Dog Bowl 2025 set a new benchmark for charitable giving in the event's history.
This year's donations include $19,500 to support active Police K9 Units, $22,000 to various dog rescue organizations, and $5,000 to the Friends of Frankenmuth Police, with the balance being received by various service groups and pet-related charities. These contributions reinforce the event's enduring mission: to celebrate the bond between people and pets while investing in the health, safety, and happiness of dogs and their communities.

Held annually at Frankenmuth River Place Shops in Frankenmuth, Michigan, Dog Bowl has grown into a nationally recognized event celebrating all things canine. Drawing thousands of attendees and their four-legged companions, the festival features a wide range of competitions and activities — from dock diving and disc catching to agility courses and costume parades — all designed to entertain and inspire.
Giving Back with Purpose
The $19,500 donation to Police K9 Units provides vital funding for training, medical care, equipment, and daily needs of working K9 teams. These dogs are a critical part of public safety, offering unique skills that protect and serve communities across the region.
Dog rescue organizations will benefit from the $22,000 in contributions, which help cover the costs of veterinary care, shelter, and adoption services. Many of these groups operate on tight budgets and rely on public support to continue their life-saving work.
A donation of $5,000 to the Friends of Frankenmuth Police will help support local initiatives that build stronger connections between residents and law enforcement, contributing to a safer and more unified Frankenmuth.
Looking Ahead to Dog Bowl 2026
With this record-breaking year in the books, organizers are already looking ahead to what's next. Plans are underway to continue growing the event and expanding its positive reach — both on-site and in the lives of the people and pets who benefit from its success.
