The Jamie Daniels Foundation and No Veteran Left Behind to receive this year's donations
DETROIT - Michimich -- Global Telecom Solutions (https://gtsdirect.com/) (GTS), a technology solutions distributor for business technology, will be making donations of $10,000 to two local Detroit charities at their 10th Annual Open House on July 16, 2024.
This event, which will be hosted at the Detroit Athletic Club, provides networking opportunities for technology suppliers and the channel selling partners of GTS, as well as offering donations to charities every year. This year, the donation recipients are The Jamie Daniels Foundation and No Veteran Left Behind.
The Jamie Daniels Foundation was created in 2018 to address substance use disorder among children, teens and young adults. Ken Daniels and Lisa Daniels-Goldman established the Jamie Daniels Foundation in memory of their late son, Jamie, who died from an overdose at the age of 23 while receiving treatment for a substance use disorder.

Donations from GTS will be going toward the foundation's Collegiate Recovery program, which is designed to help college students in recovery to stay sober in a university environment. They will also be going toward programs aimed at preventing addiction.
"Substance abuse prevention starts at an early age," said Daniels. "It's thanks to donations like these that we're able to create programs that build self-esteem, self-control, and healthy tools for managing difficult social situations."
No Veteran Left Behind is a non-profit organization founded in 2014 to help each individual veteran combat their unique challenges when returning to civilian life. It was created by Geoffrey Devereaux after he observed a lack of resources. "People needed things that the VA couldn't get to fast enough," he said.
Donations from GTS will go toward the organization's Cyber Education program, designed for military families that travel. They will also go toward programs that help older veterans bridge the digital divide, providing educational programs.
