DETROIT, Oct. 25, 2023 ~ The Dynami Foundation is bringing together trailblazing culture makers to join forces for Breast Cancer Awareness in Detroit. The 8th Annual Uncork for a Cure event is uniting the healing power of art and food to create pieces of work and provide sustenance for a cause. The fundraising event has raised over two million dollars over the years and has had a major impact on groundbreaking new research in support of lobular breast cancer through their partnership with University of Michigan's Rogel Cancer Center, University of PIttsburgh Medical Center, University of Colorado, and Karmanos Cancer Institute.
Breast cancer survivor and Dynami founder, Flora Migyanka, is leading the way to bring culture and the community together with physicians and field experts, to drive expanded research for a cure to lobular breast cancer which accounts for 15% of all breast cancers yet only receives 1% of research funding. Joining her is cousin, Master Sommelier Madeline Triffon of Plum Market, whose mother was also impacted by breast cancer. Together they will be pairing wine with award-winning food from local Detroit chefs such as Barda, Bar Pigalle, Basan, Brine Oyster House, Cantoro Italian Market, Chartreuse, Grey Ghost, Lena, Leila/Phoenicia, Mabel Gray, Marrow Motor City Seafood Oak & Reel Selden Standard SheWolf Takoi The Apparatus Room.
