GRAND RAPIDS, Mich., Dec. 9, 2024 ~ Meijer, a popular Midwest retailer, has announced the expansion of its home delivery service area, making it available to nearly four million additional households. This move comes as a response to customer demand for more convenient grocery shopping options.
According to Emily Henao, Vice President of Digital Experience at Meijer, the decision to expand the delivery range was driven by customer feedback. "We heard from many customers that were interested in using home delivery to make their grocery shopping more convenient but couldn't because they were outside of the delivery range," she stated. "We know our customers are busier than ever, and this expansion gives us a unique opportunity to make their lives easier."
The extended delivery zone now covers a 60-minute radius from Meijer stores, tripling its previous range of only 20 minutes. This means that customers in both rural and urban areas across the Midwest can now take advantage of the popular home delivery service. With items delivered in as little as three hours, Meijer aims to provide a seamless and efficient shopping experience for its customers.

To check if they are within the expanded delivery area, customers can use the Meijer app or visit Meijer.com and navigate to the "Delivery" section where they can add their address.
To encourage customers to try out the service, Meijer is offering free home delivery in the extended zone for those who purchase at least $35 worth of pet or beauty products or $50 worth of general merchandise until February 1st, 2025. After this promotional period ends, customers in the extended home delivery zone will be charged an extended range delivery fee. However, those using SNAP benefits can continue to receive free home delivery even after the promotion expires.
Meijer first launched its home delivery service in Detroit back in 2016 and has gradually expanded its availability across its Midwest footprint over the years. The pandemic further increased demand for grocery delivery, prompting the retailer to expand its hours to accommodate more customers.
Currently, all Meijer Grocery stores and supercenters offer home delivery, along with pickup and Shop & Scan options. This provides customers with a variety of ways to shop according to their needs and preferences.
With this expansion, Meijer continues to prioritize customer satisfaction and convenience by providing a wider range of options for grocery shopping.
