Lansing, MI—The Michigan Civil Rights Commission will hold a virtual special meeting on Monday, Aug. 24, 2020 at 5 pm to deliberate and select the Executive Director of the Michigan Department of Civil Rights. On Wednesday, Aug. 19, the Commission met in special session and interviewed seven individuals for the position.
The meeting will be held virtually on the Zoom platform. To join the meeting via Zoom, go to https://zoom.us/j/96275104170. Individuals may also attend by phone.
Individuals who wish to address the Commission during the public comment period must join the meeting via Zoom (by internet or by phone).
The meeting will also be live streamed on Facebook at https://www.facebook.com/midcr and on YouTube at https://youtu.be/lnFl_jcOtKA.

The Commission is charged with investigating alleged discrimination against any person because of religion, race, color or national origin, genetic information, sex, age, marital status, height, weight, arrest record, and physical and mental disability. The Michigan Department of Civil Rights serves as the operational arm of the Commission.
