Lubbock, Texas Native Credits Buddy Holly For Creation of Podcast

ANN ARBOR, Mich. - Michimich -- Ann Arbor, MI -- Lubbock, Texas, the hometown of music icon Buddy Holly, is the setting for The Perla Garcia Mysteries, a podcast for children. Created, produced, and directed by Lubbock native Rodolfo Alvarado, the podcast features a mystery busting fourth grader and her trusty sidekick, Valiente. The podcast is based on Alvarado's award-winning book series of the same name. The first season of the podcast is available on all major streaming platforms.

"With the podcast and books," Alvarado said in a statement, "I wanted to empower Latino children, as well as pay tribute to Lubbock, West Texas, and Buddy Holly, a person who, from the time I was a little boy, inspired me with his success."
