~ The City of Sterling Heights Public Works Department has issued an Advance Notice of a Snow Emergency/Parking Ban due to the predicted winter weather conditions. The Snow Emergency will be in effect beginning at 7 p.m. tonight, Friday, March 3rd.
Residents are advised to have their vehicles parked off the streets during this Advance Notice, as any vehicles found on the streets will be ticketed and may be towed. Additionally, city ordinance requires that sidewalks must be cleared of snow within 24 hours from the end of snowfall.
Once all major roads have been cleared, Public Works staff will begin to clear snow from neighborhood roads. All personnel are incorporated into the snow emergency work in order to man, repair and maintain all available equipment around the clock until emergency conditions cease. It is important for residents to remove their vehicles from the streets as of 7 p.m. tonight in order to prevent them from becoming stuck on the street and unable to move in advance of plows needing access to neighborhood streets.
