Tech Expo to make a community impact by donating luggage with love to foster children.
DETROIT - Michimich -- The 29th Women of Color STEM DTX™ Conference opens this weekend at Huntington Place, with 5,000 attendees expected over several days. The event highlights a public Tech Expo and the launch of The Great Bag Giveaway, an initiative to provide luggage to foster children and families in need.
The Tech Expo will be open to the public on Saturday from 10:00 AM to 4:00 PM. It will feature major exhibitors such as Google. These companies are actively recruiting professionals and students, offering valuable opportunities for attendees to network, explore career prospects, and learn about the latest technological advancements.
In collaboration with Career Communications Group, the Great Bag Giveaway invites attendees to donate unused luggage. Special drop-off points will be set up at the conference hotels and the convention center, making it easy for out-of-town attendees to contribute. The donated luggage will be distributed to foster homes, homeless shelters, and community centers, ensuring that families and children can carry their belongings with dignity. Attendees who donate luggage will also be entered into a raffle for a special prize.
