~ Sterling Heights, MI- On Monday evening, the City of Sterling Heights and AGS Automotive joined forces to launch the Inspiring Green initiative. The program aims to promote sustainable living by engaging businesses, organizations, and residents in activities such as expanding urban green spaces and promoting eco-friendly landscaping.
The official kick-off event took place at AGS's 18 ½ Mile Road facility with a ribbon-cutting ceremony. As the first Inspire Partner of the program, AGS made a generous contribution of $30,000. This donation will go towards planting over 90 new trees and implementing sustainable landscaping throughout the community.
Mayor Michael Taylor expressed his enthusiasm for the initiative, stating that "Sterling Heights is committed to reforesting our community and creating a sustainable future." He also highlighted the benefits that this project will bring to residents for generations to come. Mayor Taylor commended AGS Automotive for their leadership as the first Inspire Partner and emphasized the importance of collaboration between businesses and the city in improving quality of life.

The Inspiring Green Initiative was born out of the city's revamped Adopt-a-Road program. It goes beyond litter clean-up and focuses on promoting sustainability and environmental stewardship. Through three levels of partnership, businesses and organizations can support various projects that have a positive impact on the community while receiving public recognition.
