Job Opportunity Referral Program allows a co-hort of disabled, dislocated workers to participate in a valuable, mentoring orientation and work experience program facilitated by Lena Barkley, Lead Manager Workforce Initiatives.
DETROIT - Michimich -- Lori Hill, MA, LLPC, CBSP, Executive Director of the Disability Network of Wayne County Detroit (DNWayne), announces that CVS Health, Lead Manager Workforce Initiatives, Lena Barkley, has created a Job Opportunity Referral Program to be launched in January of 2020. This opportunity provides mentoring and guidance with the application process for retail positions. The program allows those with visible and invisible disabilities to receive job readiness, employment etiquette, application assistance, background check, drug screening, and job location preferences through the Disability Network of Wayne County Detroit.

DNWAYNE JOB CLUB: Employment & Job Readiness Services
We train and prepare our consumers to seek, obtain and maintain employment. We assist with resumes and job application completion and the development of both interview and job seeking skills.
Over 50% of individuals with disabilities are unemployed. Whether you are new to employment or trying to reenter the job market; the goal can feel daunting. To help, the Disability Network Capital Area offers a range of employment related services ranging from information to targeted job skills training.
We work with both adults and students. Services include:
• Disability awareness and job accommodations
• Self-advocacy – When you need to disclose a disability
• Transferable skills
• Systems navigation
• Interviewing, job applications, resumes
• Benefits Planning
• Assistive Technology
