LIVONIA, Mich. - Michimich -- Divine Intervention by Spencer Stoner is the first book in the new Ophelia Legacy graphic novels series. Centering around the adventures of Ophelia, a mercenary-for-hire in the fantasy world of Honua, the series features a colorful cast of strong female characters and a ragtag pack of miscreants. Ophelia, who would rather focus on acquiring money than interacting with people, somehow always ends up involved in the affairs of everyone else. Despite her shortcomings, however, she almost always ends up doing the right thing.
The series opens with Narasumas hunting down a murderer and searching for the best tracker in the region: Appelonia—a godless young elf formerly of the Order of Kuan Yin with the uncanny ability to find those who try to hide. She's familiar with the barren fields in the Land of the Long-toothed Rabbit and knows how to survive.
There's only one complication. The notorious mercenary Ophelia has already contracted Appelonia to help her search the frozen landscape for an exiled barbarian—and she doesn't like to share.
Illustrated by debut comic artist Stephanie Haigney, the full-color artwork is bold and lush. Divine Intervention will appeal to readers and fans of sword and sorcery and Red Sonja graphic novels. The next adventure in the series, Ophelia and the Rabbits of War is slated for a 2020 release.
