DETROIT--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Attorneys at Hagens Berman representing consumers in a class-action lawsuit against Ford regarding a defect causing spontaneous fires are warning of likely repair delays as mounting pressure grows for Ford to supply at least 166,000 Ford Expeditions and Lincoln Navigators with updated parts. The law firm that specializes in award-winning automotive litigation expects the recall to grow to include additional vehicles.
If you own a 2021 Ford Expedition or Lincoln Navigator you may be affected by this dangerous defect and may be entitled to compensation. Additional Ford build periods and/or models may be affected. Contact Hagens Berman to find out more about this issue and your consumer rights against Ford.
The law firm's class action was filed in the U.S. District Court for the Eastern District of Michigan and seeks compensation for owners' losses and loss of vehicle value due to the defect.

Holding Ford's Feet to the Fire
In an announcement, Ford stated that an additional 100,000 vehicles are now recalled for the manufacturing defect in a battery junction box that can ignite a fire when the vehicle is in use or parked and has reportedly occurred in some vehicles only months after purchase.
"There's no way Ford can deliver a timely fix to the more than one-hundred-sixty thousand people whose everyday lives are affected by this dangerous defect," said Steve Berman, Hagens Berman co-founder and managing partner. "We want to see Ford supply what folks need while they wait for a fix: they need support now, while they are still forced to either drive SUVs – which are specifically marketed to families – that could spontaneously catch fire, or go without the necessity of their personal vehicles."
"Ford needs to deliver an answer that's better than 'park your car somewhere it can catch fire,'" Berman added.
The law firm represents a proposed class of owners of affected vehicles, including one owner who experienced a harrowing vehicle fire only months after purchase of his Expedition and shared video footage of the fire nearly reaching his home.
The firm has brought dozens of class-action lawsuit against automakers and has helped successfully secure the largest automotive settlements in history.
"Given our firm's experience in this area of law, we firmly expect the recall to expand to additional vehicles and continue to review the many messages we receive regarding Ford's defect," Berman said.
