GRAND RAPIDS, Mich., Oct. 24, 2024 ~ Meijer, a popular Midwest retail chain, has announced the success of its fourth Meijer Team Gives program. This program has resulted in surprise donations to nearly 500 nonprofits within the communities it serves.
According to Rick Keyes, President and CEO of Meijer, the Meijer Team Gives program holds a special place in the company's heart as it allows team members across the Midwest to support local nonprofits that are making a meaningful impact in their communities. By empowering employees to choose the organizations that mean the most to them, Meijer is not only supporting hundreds of local organizations but also honoring the values and passions of its team members. Keyes expressed his admiration for how dedicated his team is to making a difference and stated that this program reflects Meijer's purpose to enrich lives in the communities it serves.
During each Meijer Team Gives program, every store, distribution facility, and supply chain location is given $10,000 to donate to a nonprofit in their community. Team members at each location work together to identify local nonprofits that are meaningful to them and their community before ultimately selecting one organization to surprise with a donation.
