When it comes to permeation measurement, it's essential to look at the return on investment provided by the equipment. That's why those companies that measure Oxygen Transmission Rate (OTR) and Water Vapor Transmission Rate (WVTR) will be interested to know that Labthink has combined both equal pressure OTR and infrared WVTR techniques into a single, space-saving, solution.
MEDFORD, Mass. - Michimich -- Labthink International will introduce two new combination permeability analyzers for the packaging industry. The C403H and C406H analyzers combine both oxygen transmission rate (OTR) and water vapor transmission rate (WVTR) measurement capabilities into a single instrument, eliminating the need for separate instruments for each measurement – and presenting users with significant cost and bench space savings in the laboratory.
The C403H features Labthink's popular three-cell configuration, while the C406H is a high volume six-cell unit with multiple quality assurance applications. Both instruments feature the company's latest full absorption coulometric and TDLAS infrared sensors, providing users with high sensitivity measurements and a long service life. Each of the new instruments is simple to operate and fully automatic. Users simply decide which tests they want to perform – OTR, WVTR, or both - and use a vibrant, easy-to-navigate color touchscreen tablet to set up the test parameters. Moreover, under a combination test setting, the instrument seamlessly pivots from one test to the other at the conclusion of the first test.

Regarding the new products, Craig Primiani, Labthink's CEO, commented the following: "These instruments are a game-changer for our customers. They no longer need to budget for two instruments when, for little more than the price of a single OTR analyzer, they can gain the capability for WVTR testing. This new launch is another example of our innovation and commitment to providing our customers with greater choice and value for money."
The C403H and C406H follow ASTM standards D3985 and F1249 and are backed by Labthink's industry-leading six-year sensor and two-year system warranties.
