~ Residents of Sterling Heights have plenty of family-friendly activities to choose from this summer. From the Dodge Park Splash Pad to the Sterlingfest Kidzfest Tent, there is something for everyone.
The Dodge Park Splash Pad is a great way to beat the heat and enjoy some thrilling splash zones, slides, and more. It's free of charge and conveniently located in Dodge Park.
The Parks and Recreation programs offer a great opportunity to develop new skills, make new friends, and create lasting memories. Little Learners classes, cheer camp, gymnastics, karate, and more are available for residents to sign up for online at myshpr.net/register.
The Nature Center on Utica Road near Van Dyke is a great place for young explorers to get an up-close look at still life exhibits that host living reptiles and amphibians as well as a 900-gallon aquarium with fish from local lakes and rivers. There is also an adjoining park with views that many cannot believe can be found in a bustling city like Sterling Heights!

The Sterling Heights Public Library offers unique youth events almost every day throughout the summer such as Paws for Reading, Preschool Story time, Toddler Time, Kids Yoga, and more. These events provide a safe and nurturing environment for children to grow this summer.
At the Community Center there are drop-in activities such as Indoor Adventures, youth basketball, youth volleyball, pickleball and more that energetic youth and active families can take part in. The gym activities change daily so make sure to check out the schedule online before heading over!
Sterlingfest will be held from July 27 - 29 at Dodge Park with free activities and live family entertainment at the Kidzfest Tent. Music, nature, magic jugglers crafts are just some of what you can expect at this vibrant atmosphere!
Rookie Recreators is designed to promote sportsmanship while teaching sports skills through basic motor skills while Sporties for Shorties introduces children ages 3-5 to the basics of different sports each week such as baseball basketball soccer football volleyball etc.. Both programs can be found online at myshpr.net/register.
