~ Sterling Heights Public Library Offers Victorian Holiday Photo Opportunity at Upton House Museum
As the holiday season approaches, many families are looking for new and unique ways to capture their cherished memories. This year, the Sterling Heights Public Library has teamed up with the Historical Commission to offer a special photo opportunity at the Upton House Museum.
On Sunday, November 10th from 1 p.m. to 4 p.m., individuals and families are invited to step back in time and experience the festive Victorian setting of the Upton House Museum. According to Tammy Turgeon, director of the Sterling Heights Public Library and staff liaison for the Historical Commission, this event is a wonderful way to connect with the city's rich history while creating lasting memories with loved ones.
For a charitable donation of just $10, participants can immerse themselves in the holiday spirit and take home their very own Christmas card photo. The Upton House Museum will be beautifully decorated for the occasion, providing a stunning backdrop for photos.
Attendees are encouraged to dress as they please, whether it be in casual attire or their finest holiday outfits. For those who want to fully embrace the Victorian era, a limited number of period costumes will be available in various sizes for use during the photo session.

Members of the Historical Commission will be on hand to assist with taking photos using attendees' own cameras. Alternatively, participants can take their own photographs. Each session is allotted up to 10 minutes and photos will be available on attendees' personal devices immediately after.
To secure a spot for this one-day event, registration is required starting October 27th through an online form or by calling 586-226-2640. While sign-up times do not guarantee an exact appointment time, they ensure a sitting as close as possible to the registered time. It is recommended that attendees arrive on time as some extra time may be needed for each session. Only one ten-minute session per group is allowed and all members should be registered under one name. Please note that the full tour of the Upton House Museum requires the use of stairs and is not wheelchair accessible.
After registering for a time slot, the $10 fee can be paid online at https://square.link/u/Qvld4ZRU. All proceeds from this event will go towards supporting the preservation and enhancement of the Upton House Museum through the Historical Commission. It is important to note that reservations must be paid within 48 hours of booking to avoid cancellation.
Don't miss this unique opportunity to capture the magic of the holiday season in a historical and charming setting. Space is limited, so register today and make this holiday season one to remember.
