Sterling Heights: SHPD Rolls Out New School Resource Officer Vehicles

~ The Sterling Heights Police Department has rolled out its newly designed School Resource Officer vehicles for the new school year. The 2023 Dodge Durangos are decked out in the logos of the three high schools situated in Sterling Heights: Sterling Heights Stevenson High School, Sterling Heights High School, and Henry Ford II High School.

Lt. Mario Bastianelli, Public Informational Officer of the department, said "The Sterling Heights Police Department prides itself on having a great relationship with the Utica and Warren Consolidated School Districts. Not only do we pride ourselves on how safe we make the schools, but now with these new vehicles, we will also look good doing it!"

Robert Monroe, Utica Community Schools Superintendent, expressed his appreciation for the SROs displaying their Titan and Falcon pride. He said "We are proud of the relationships we have with our municipalities to support a safe and positive learning environment."

Dr. Robert Livernois, Warren Consolidated Schools Superintendent also commented on the purchase of a new vehicle for their school resource officer saying "The Sterling Heights Police Department's purchase of a new vehicle for our school resource officer continues to demonstrate their investment in helping keep our schools safe. We appreciate our continued partnership with the city."

The newly designed vehicles are sure to be seen around town as they proudly shine supporting all three high schools in Sterling Heights.
