~ The City of Sterling Heights is preparing for its 44th Annual Memorial Day Parade on Monday, May 29th. This year's theme is "Victory through Unity" and will feature a historic flyover of authentic WWII Tuskegee Airmen planes. U.S. Army Veteran and current Vice President of the National Museum of the Tuskegee Airmen, Larry Sargent, will serve as Grand Marshal.

The parade is expected to draw tens of thousands of spectators to watch over 100 marching bands, scout troops, civic groups and individuals march in the parade. Applications for participation are available on the City's website, sterling-heights.net.
Memorial Day activities begin at 9 a.m., with a solemn tribute to all veterans who died in the line of duty in the City Center Courtyard. The parade will kick off at 10 a.m., proceeding south on Dodge Park Road to Metropolitan Parkway and ending at Heritage Jr High School.
