Volunteer Registration Now Open for 10th Meijer LPGA Classic for Simply Give

GRAND RAPIDS, Mich., March 25, 2024 ~ The 10th annual Meijer LPGA Classic for Simply Give is fast approaching, and tournament representatives are on the lookout for 1,300 volunteers to support this premier event in West Michigan. Volunteer registration is now open and those interested can sign up at meijerlpgaclassic.com.

This year's tournament holds special significance as it celebrates its 10th anniversary. "Volunteering at the tournament has always been a fulfilling opportunity for our community to come together in support of the Meijer Simply Give program," said Cathy Cooper, Executive Director of the Meijer LPGA Classic. "We anticipate this year will be even more meaningful as we mark this milestone."

Cooper also expressed gratitude for the record-breaking volunteer interest received every year, which has helped the tournament grow over time. "Our volunteers are truly the heart of this weeklong event, and we're incredibly grateful for them," she added.

The fee to volunteer is $30 and includes perks such as two official tournament golf shirts with two or more shifts or one shirt with one shift, an official tournament hat or visor, an exclusive Meijer LPGA Classic 10th anniversary pin, four weekly grounds passes for friends or family, one parking pass, and complimentary meals and beverages during scheduled shifts.

There are a variety of volunteer roles available to choose from, including Standard Bearers, Marshals, Discovery Land support, full-scale Hospitality attendants, and more. The full list and role descriptions can be found on meijerlpgaclassic.com.

For those who do not have a preference or want to experience different aspects of the tournament, there is a "General Volunteer" position available. Volunteers only need to select a time slot and will be directed to a location that needs assistance upon arrival at the course.

Volunteers are encouraged to register early as committees and shift times are filled on a first-come, first-served basis. "Whether you've been with us every year or you're new to volunteering, there's something for everyone at the Meijer LPGA Classic," Cooper said.

The tournament not only provides a fun and fulfilling experience for volunteers, but it also supports a great cause. The Meijer Simply Give program helps stock the shelves of local food pantry partners across the Midwest. Since 2014, the Meijer LPGA Classic for Simply Give has generated over $10 million for food pantries in need.
