FRANKENMUTH, Mich. - Michimich -- Frankenmuth Dog Bowl, the world's largest Olympic-style festival for dogs, has once again demonstrated its commitment to supporting the local community by donating $5,000 to the Frankenmuth Friends of Police.
The donation was presented during the Funtown Chowdown Food Truck Festival on August 14, on the grounds of Frankenmuth River Place Shops with Frankenmuth Chief of Police Don Mawer accepting the check on behalf of the organization. The Frankenmuth Friends of Police works to strengthen the bond between law enforcement and the community by funding important safety and equipment needs beyond the department's regular budget.
"This gift is a reflection of our mission at Dog Bowl — to celebrate the joy and loyalty of dogs while giving back to the community we call home," said Michael Keller Zehnder, President of the Bavarian Inn Lodge and Chairman of the Frankenmuth Dog Bowl. "Just as our festival brings people and pets together in a spirit of fun, we want to make sure we're also supporting the people and organizations that keep our community safe."
