A Community-Driven Effort to Bring Warmth and Peace of Mind This Winter

TACOMA, Wash. - Michimich -- Kliemann Brothers is proud to announce that Linda McElroy and Nancy Olsen, both of Tacoma, WA, are the winners of its 2025 Furnace Giveaway. Both met the criteria to receive the "Gift of Warmth" to a family in need during the holiday season. The prize included a Brand New Furnace + Installation this past December.

Upgrade for a 60+ Year Old Furnace

Linda, a Tacoma resident in her 70s, had a furnace that was more than 60 years old. It was the original model installed in her home and was still operating, but was well past due for an upgrade. With a new system, Linda could benefit from improved heating performance and a safer, more reliable furnace.

Four months earlier, Linda had lost her husband following a battle with dementia. Comfort and peace of mind during a difficult time, not to mention harsh winter weather, meant that she stood to benefit in many ways and was highly deserving of such a gift.

"From the very beginning of the call about winning my new furnace, [which served our family for] more than 60 years, it was time to say goodbye! I don't know how to say thank you, Kliemann Brothers! I feel like we're family, and you took such great care of me. How could I not feel like that!" Linda said in a review following the installation.

Linda also expressed gratitude for the "kindness and compassion" the team at Kleimann Brothers has shown. It took just a few hours to remove the old furnace and install the new unit. She added, "Please believe me…that you won't be sorry or go wrong choosing Kliemann for your home's heating and cooling needs….I thank you from the bottom of my heart!! It's as warm as my home is, and I'm happy beyond belief.

Self Nominee Receives a Working Furnace

Having nominated herself for the Furnace Giveaway, Nancy Olsen, 75, received a new system. Her old furnace had not worked properly for many years. It had been incorrectly sized during installation. The contractor also left without completing the job, requiring Nancy to get by with a pellet stove and oil heaters, leaving her with concerns about indoor air quality, which she attributed to the declining health of herself and her 95-year-old aunt, whom she is the primary caretaker for.

Kliemann Brothers selected Nancy, intending to keep her and her aunt safe and comfortable. The company installed a new air handler and heat pump. This combination was chosen to help them stay warm in winter and cool in the summer, ensuring they have year-round comfort.

In sharing how much of a difference the system has made, Nancy said, "Being able to go to sleep and wake up in a warm home has brought tremendous relief. I can't thank Kliemann Brothers enough."
