ANN ARBOR, Mich. - Michimich -- Local attorneys from Pear Sperling Eggan & Daniels, P.C. were present at a recent Washtenaw County Courthouse event to celebrate the unveiling of a portrait honoring Judge Kurtis T. Wilder's distinguished service on the Washtenaw County Circuit Court (1992-1998). The portrait will be hung in the Washtenaw County Circuit Court building thereafter.
Judge Wilder's tenure as chief judge (1996-1998) reflects his leadership within the court system. Following his circuit court service, Governor John Engler appointed Judge Wilder to the Michigan Court of Appeals, where he served from 1998 to 2017. In 2017, Governor Rick Snyder appointed Justice Wilder to the Michigan Supreme Court, making him the 112th justice on the state's highest court.
