~ Sterling Heights, MI - As the winter season comes to an end, the Dodge Park Ice Rink will be closing its doors on Sunday, March 2. This will be the last chance for residents to enjoy skating until the rink reopens in December.

Located at the Community Center, the ice rink has been a popular spot for families and friends to gather and have fun on the ice. With its closure approaching, residents are encouraged to take advantage of this opportunity before it's too late.

In addition to the ice rink, the Community Center has a variety of events and activities planned for March. On Saturday, March 1 from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m., they will be hosting their annual Mom 2 Mom Sale. This year's event promises to be bigger and better with over 100 vendors selling toys, clothing, furniture and more. Concessions will also be available during the event.

For Sterling Heights residents, admission is free while non-residents can join in on the fun for just $3 per person.

On Saturday, March 8 from 11 a.m. to 12:30 p.m., there will be a Field of Flowers Painting Class where participants can learn how to capture nature's beauty on canvas using acrylic paints. Registration is required by March 5.

For those looking for some evening entertainment, mark your calendars for Thursday, March 13 from 6-8 p.m. The Coffeehouse Concert series will feature Blackthorn (Irish Folk) as they perform live music while attendees enjoy complimentary coffee from Deer Camp Coffee and sweet treats from Nothing Bundt Cakes. Tickets can be purchased online.

On Friday, March 14 from 6-9 p.m., grab your friends and head over to the Community Center for a St. Patrick's Day themed event called "Making Memories". Participants can enjoy pizza and beverages while trying their luck at winning a prize. Registration is required by March 13.

For families looking for a fun and festive event, the Luck O'The Irish Bingo on Saturday, March 15 from 12-1:30 p.m. is the perfect option. With five bingo games, prizes and refreshments, this event is sure to bring some luck to all who attend. Registration is required by March 12.

At the Nature Center, there will be two events in celebration of St. Patrick's Day. On Saturday, March 15 from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m., join in on the "Green Twist" event where participants will learn about eco-friendly practices and create green-themed crafts using recycled and natural materials. Registration is required by March 11.

Then on Saturday, March 22 from 3-4 p.m., take part in the "Equinox Exploration: Spring Awakening Walk" where attendees can welcome spring by going on a guided hike to observe the changing landscape and witness the first signs of blooming flora and returning fauna. Registration is required by March 21.

For seniors at the Senior Center, there will be a St. Patrick's Day party on Wednesday, March 12 from 11:30 a.m. to 2:15 p.m. Attendees are encouraged to dress like leprechauns and enjoy entertainment from Steve Floyd while dancing and enjoying a delicious meal provided by Century Banquet Center.

And for those looking to make healthy changes in their lives, the Small Changes program starting on Wednesdays from March 12 may be just what they need. This year-long evidence-based program focuses on healthy eating, physical activity, stress management and motivation to help prevent or delay Type 2 Diabetes.
