Annual Summer Celebration on June 6 Kicks Off a Season of Arts, Entrepreneurship, Choir, and Youth Advocacy
DETROIT, MI — W.I.S.E. Partnership is proud to announce a full lineup of free summer youth programming designed to spark creativity, confidence, and community connection. All programs are inclusive and free to participants.
Children's & Young Founders Business Fair The season opens at the W.I.S.E. Central Hub, 2700 W. W.I.S.E. Etiquette Workshop & High Tea The W.I.S.E. Etiquette Workshop is a one-day experience in proper dining, poise, and social skills, culminating in a formal high tea at a local teahouse. Open to girls ages 12–17, each participant receives etiquette books and a complimentary fascinator to wear to the event.
Kids Art Club Kids Art Club (ages 9–18) introduces youth to mosaic tile making, fiber arts, drawing, and painting. Tiles created by participants will be permanently displayed in the W.I.S.E. Echoes of the Community garden. Award-winning artist Taylor Childs is leading the experience.
Echoes in Harmony Youth Choir The Echoes in Harmony Youth Choir launches June 15, rehearsing Mondays and Wednesdays from 3 to 5 p.m. No auditions required — only a desire to sing. Director Ms. Renee Conley is committed to developing every young voice.
Power of Our Voice The highlight of the summer is Power of Our Voice, W.I.S.E.'s flagship youth arts and activism program, now in partnership with Grow Detroit's Young Talent. Guided by professional artists and educators, students explore activism through multiple art forms and present their work to the community and city officials at summer's end.
