BRIGHTON, Mich. - Michimich -- Oakland County, MI — Oakland County Circuit Court Judge Michael Warren announced Thursday evening his candidacy for the Michigan Supreme Court. Judge Warren is seeking the Republican Party's nomination at the endorsement convention to be held March 28, 2026.
Judge Warren brings more than two decades of judicial experience to the race, having served over 23 years on the Oakland County Circuit Court. During his tenure, he has presided over more than 375 jury trials and built a reputation as a consistent advocate for the rule of law and the original meaning of the Constitution.
"For decades, I have worked to uphold the Constitution and law as they were written and understood by the People and lawmakers," said Judge Warren. "I am running to ensure our courts remain faithful to the Constitution and committed to equal justice under the law."
A respected legal scholar and educator, Judge Warren is a professor of business law at Wayne State University and has taught constitutional law at Western Michigan University Cooley Law School.
